Review of Postcards From Route 66: The Ultimate Collection From America’s Main Street by Joe Sonderman

I won this book in a First Reads giveaway on The book is pretty neat. It’s full of images that appeared on post cards of the places along Route 66 in the 1950’s and 60’s. Each chapter focuses on a state that Route 66 runs through and starts off with an introduction.

I liked learning about the different places and would like to visit them someday.  It’s sad that some of the places are gone now.  I thought the hotel postcards were the best. I like that they had so many different places with different ideas. There’s one called The Wigwam Motel and you can sleep in a wigwam shaped room. That would be neat!

I recommend this book to anyone who likes reading about historic sites, the 50’s, western stuff and Route 66.

I love reading, listening to music, watching wrestling and spending time with my friends and family. I read mostly Young Adult books and I love paranormal books, especially vampire ones. I am originally from Connecticut, but I live in Maryland now. I have a book buying habit and I'm addicted to the book section of my local thrift shop.
